The saying, “Shipshape and Bristol Fashion” is not exactly a modern expression, but way back when in England where it originated, this expression was a respectable honour. Originally meant to be a tribute to the traditional high standards of good order on board sailing ships, the expression later took form as a term to describe a well organized, efficient household or business.
This expression is very endearing to me, not just for it’s funny-stately manner, but because it reminds me of the strong, caring, creative role models I have known throughout my life.
My decision to become a Professional Organizer came after years of working and volunteering in the non-profit social service sector. Through education and years of dedication, I’ve fine tuned the skills that I love the most; organizing, coordinating, creating beautiful spaces and managing chaotic situations to turn them into workable solutions. I truly enjoy helping my clients achieve a balance in their life.
Mother Theresa said it best, “The more you have, the more occupied you are. The less you have, the more free you are.”
To me, organization is not about perfection, it’s about improving your overall quality of life. I firmly believe that everyone needs their own system of organization to fit their lifestyle habits. I will work with you to find that balance between a well organized space and a functional system that best suits your needs.
“Our daughter’s room was cluttered & cramped & she constantly complained of wanting a bigger room. Julie was a breath of fresh air. She worked with us, but more importantly, with our daughter, to weed out the clutter from the treasures. Julie took time to get to know her interests & created a unique, organized & functional space. Julie even took care of selling items online for us. A once cramped & chaotic space has been transformed into a play area, art centre & musical stage. Our daughter uses her room much more, has not complained about needing more space & even made money selling items she had outgrown. As busy parents, it was such such a relief to have Julie work her magic & create a better use of space in our home. Thank you Julie!!!” Tara V. – St. Catharines
“Working with Julie was indeed a pleasure. Helping me reduce and organize my clutter was a challenge, but at my difficult times she was positive, caring and compassionate, taking time to discuss issues so l could achieve my goals. Julie helped organize and run a lawn sale, placed and oversaw sales on Kijiji and had many contacts to help me with my items. She is focused, energetic and a hard worker. Thanks Julie!” Virgil P. – Fenwick
